With the burdens of life pressing in on me, I felt as if I were having a panic attack, worrying about things that hadn’t even happened yet. I envisioned the worst-case scenarios and made decisions based on the perceived outcomes of those fears.
Then the Lord whispered: Today
The Body A Temple
I paused, unsure of what He meant. Suddenly, a light bulb lit up. Do not worry about tomorrow because it has its own troubles. (Matthew 6:34). How often do we let fear rob us of today’s peace because we are fixated on the uncertainty of tomorrow?
In Matthew 6:34, Jesus teaches us that worrying about tomorrow adds nothing to our lives. This doesn’t mean we ignore the future, but we acknowledge God is in control. He has given us everything we need for today, and sometimes tomorrow’s answers lie in today’s obedience.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thine ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy path.
